Delete your Caraid account

Delete your account in the app

Open the Caraid app. Go to Settings → Delete account. Confirm the deletion.

When you delete your account:

• Recordings and documents you uploaded are deleted everywhere. Access ends immediately. Physical deletion from cloud storage then runs in the background, and Caraid verifies it. If verification fails, the content stays blocked from all access, and a durable record of the failed work remains until Caraid's operators complete the deletion.
• Your own care record is deleted when you control it. A care record managed by a guardian or legal representative stays with them, and your link to it ends.
• Your access to other care records ends.
• Your name and contact details are erased from the account.

What Caraid keeps, and for how long

• Deletion records, kept permanently. Caraid keeps tombstones and audit entries that contain no health details, no name, and no contact details. These records are proof of deletion and protect the integrity of the service.
• An opaque internal account reference, kept permanently. This reference contains no name and no contact details. Caraid keeps it so the deleted account can never be signed into again.
• A pending invitation from another care circle, kept while it is active. An invitation another care circle already sent to your contact stays with that circle while it is active. It requires fresh verification by whoever holds the contact before it grants anything. When the invitation ends, your contact details are removed from it.

Timing

Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window. Physical deletion from cloud storage then runs in the background, and Caraid verifies it. If verification fails, the content stays blocked from all access, and a durable record of the failed work remains until Caraid's operators complete the deletion.
