Caraid

Terms of Service

Effective October 19, 2026

The short version

  • Caraid helps you record, organize, and share your family's health information. It is not medical advice.
  • AI summaries can contain mistakes. Check them with your healthcare provider.
  • You own your content. You decide who sees it.

1. Who we are

Caraid is run by Caraid Health Tech Ltd. ("Caraid", "we", "us"), a corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act (corporation no. 1811617-2). Our registered office is at 121 Mill St, Stouffville, ON L4A 1J2, Canada. Our Privacy Officer is Nav Patel, at privacy@caraid.ca. You can reach us at hello@caraid.ca. By creating an account or using Caraid, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply in addition to the standard terms of the app store you download Caraid from, such as Apple's standard license agreement.

2. What Caraid is

Caraid is a tool to record, organize, and share your family's health information.

Caraid is not medical advice. Caraid does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a health-care provider. AI-generated transcripts and summaries can contain mistakes. Check them with your healthcare provider and use the recording to confirm what was said. Caraid is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • The service is intended for people in Canada outside Québec, starting with Ontario. Use it only if you are in that area.
  • You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory to hold a Caraid account.
  • A parent, guardian, or other person with legal authority can use Caraid for a child or dependent. You must have a valid basis to act for that person.
  • Give accurate information when you sign up.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

4. Your content

You own the recordings, documents, and other content you add to Caraid. We do not claim ownership of it.

To run Caraid for you, you give us permission to store and process your content, including by third-party AI services as described in the Privacy Policy, and to share it with the people you choose. We use this permission only to provide the service.

5. Recording other people

You are responsible for recording lawfully. One-party consent applies in Canada, so you can record a conversation you take part in. If you were not part of the conversation, you are responsible for having permission to record it. Follow any rules a clinic or other place has. Tell the people present, and pause or stop when asked.

6. Care circles and sharing

When you file a capture to a person's profile, everyone in that person's care circle can see it. Invite only people you trust. You can remove a profile tag or a member's access in the app when you are authorized to. Information that someone has already seen or saved outside Caraid is outside our control.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Caraid to:

  • break the law or record people unlawfully;
  • add information about someone you have no right to act for;
  • harass, threaten, or harm anyone;
  • try to access another person's account or data, or probe or disrupt our systems;
  • upload malware or content you do not have the right to share; or
  • copy, resell, or reverse engineer the service.

8. Deleting your account and shared content

You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account, or on the account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

When you delete your account, your uploads are deleted everywhere and your access to other care records ends. Your own care record is deleted when you control it. A care record managed by a guardian or legal representative stays with them. We keep records with no health details that show a deletion took place. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

9. Availability and changes to the service

The service is intended for people in Canada outside Québec, starting with Ontario. We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We can change, add, or remove features. We will give notice in the app or by email before a change that significantly reduces what you can do.

10. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

Caraid is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that transcripts, summaries, or suggestions are complete or correct. You are responsible for decisions you make about health care. Talk to a healthcare provider before you act on health information.

To the extent the law allows, Caraid Health Tech Ltd. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to CAD $100. None of this limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, and it does not limit your rights under Ontario consumer protection law.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Caraid and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect people or the service. When we can, we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on your content, liability, and governing law, continue after your account ends.

12. Changes to these Terms

We can update these Terms. We will post the new effective date here and give notice in the app or by email for material changes. If you keep using Caraid after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario can hear disputes about them, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to go elsewhere.
